		Kicking Terrorist Ass! 		Actors From hit TV show The UNIT get some Real Hands on Training with The Self Defense Training System™ So there I was getting ready for class this evening when a gentlemen in a USO shirt came up and started talking to me. As our conversation grew I asked him what he was doing over here and he mentioned that he was an actor (Max Martini) in the TV series The Unit. That’s when my student Aimal (our hero from the Taxi situation) chimed in…No, no, no, you can't wind up with a punch or a kick your assailant will see that a mile away, you need to lead with speed and follow with power! 		The Self Defense Training System™ is "As Real as it Gets" This will make you laugh, I caught Bas Rutten on Google Video teaching self-defense punching with bare knuckles this morning, so I went down to the Hapkido studio to see what BOB (the training dummy) thought...BOB went thumbs down. Punching is powerful (and I can punch hard) but chopping is much faster, hits more vulnerable targets, doesn't push the opponent out of range of follow-up shots and won't break your hand on impact. 		The Self Defense Training System™ is the only System you Need I have bought the complete Self Defense Training System about three weeks ago and after watching the entire program, I feel obliged to tell the public how good your program really is for their own safety. I have been studying Close Combat in private lessons at a school which is not affiliated with the Self-Defense Company for 1 year and a half now. Before that, I tried several self-defense systems and watched hundreds of self-defense DVDs. First of all, after training in Close Combat only for a few weeks I realized how The Self Defense Training System™ was superior to other self-defense systems. So this is the first reason why I encourage you to buy The Self Defense Training System™ because of the self-defense system taught which is: Close Combat. My second reason is because it’s easy to see in the DVDs that Mr. Damian Ross is an honest man and that he has the safety of people at heart. Let me give you a couple of examples of that. Many self-defense instructors make you believe that you will be able to defend yourself efficiently, when in fact you’ll only be able to defend yourself properly if you train for years in their systems. Other self-defense instructors will lie to you and say that you will be able to defend yourself in their systems with low fitness level. I feel this puts the public at great risk of injury, because if you want to be able to deal with a self-defense situation, unless you defend yourself with a weapon, you have to have a relatively good level of fitness, otherwise you will got out of breath within seconds, especially if you are not used to dealing with the adrenaline peak you will experience. The proof of this can be observed in The Self Defense Training System™ by seeing Mr.Ross, who has been an athlete for a good part of his life, not being out of breath but sweating in some DVDs, because he puts all his energy into his attacks, which is what should be done if you want to have a chance at surviving against a good attacker. After a year and a half of private Close Combat training and physical training, I am still only able to go at full force and speed for about a minute on a training dummy, which would be more than enough to finish one or even multiple attackers if you fight like shown The Self Defense Training System™, until I start having trouble breathing even though I can run miles before beginning to have trouble breathing. Your whole body is involved in Close Combat and this is totally different than running or speed walking. Plus, if you choose to escape a situation, you’ve got to be able to run fast enough and long enough to get to a safe place and a bad fitness level is not going to permit you to accomplish that. Lastly, I strongly encourage you to buy this entire Self Defense Training System because Mr.Ross doesn’t show you anything that will put your life in danger if you do as he says, unlike several other DVDs (who shall remain nameless) \ which show you stuff that will get you killed in the streets because these techniques work tremendously in a Dojo, but not in a Street Fight where everything is chaotic and happens so fast. Here is my suggestion: Buy the entire Self Defnese Training System as your core self-defense, train as instructed, and to add a little more reality have a partner get in your face, swear at you and intimidate you, so you can feel what it is like to be in an adrenalized state. Believe me You won’t be able to do complex motor movements I can guarantee. Try scenarios where you will try to verbally de-escalate the conflict, if possible. I even encourage you to look at some self-defense DVDs from other instructors but take the Self Defense Trining System from the Self-Defense Company as your core because this system is so effective and so complete technically speaking that you won’t find anything that comes even close to it. You’ve got one of the best instructors in the world, Mr.Damian Ross, that will answer all your questions on his forum and that is priceless for continuous learning and stupid to not take advantage of this great resource. 		Man Survives Brutal Attack Thanks to The Self Defense Training System™ I was traveling to work (via Taxi) when these two men starting some trouble with a cab driver. Somehow I became involved and soon found out that I was now fighting two other men!!! But before I knew it, it was over so fast, less than 10 seconds. All I remember doing was stepping into one person with my full body weight, landing a horizontal edge of hand into the guys throat followed by some other vertical edge of hands until the guy just collapsed.It was incredible. All I could remember was the striking drills I learned to do on the training dummy and that I should always remember that in any altercation remember three things...you assailant will have intent - Check, he will have friends - Check, he will have a weapon. To tell you thre truth, I didn't stick around, I think those guys were out cold. One thing I remembered from the Training System: an attack will most likely occur when you are not expecting one, you are sick, tired, etc. and I have been sick the past few days. 		The Self Defense Training System™ Weapons Defense…..Simmply Brilliant!!! I've just received volume 9 of the self defence series and am just as pleased with the contents as volume 1. However, volume 8 was the "one" I had been anticipating for, as the topic of knives is quite prevalent here in the UK at the moment. What can I say....Absolutely devastating and brilliant. It cuts all the crap away from the subject matter in a clear and concise manner. I still see posters advertising a karate practitioner "blocking" and then "incapacitating" a knife wielding assailant in the hope of a knife fearing public running to them to show them the "way" to deal with these thugs! Your DVD shows an attitude that is somehow being dismissed in recent times, they've got a knife so yield to their control, CRAP! How about what we Brits used to do FIGHT BACK! As you say on your DVD "Is it better to be hurting/killing them as they stab you or vice versa"! It is my personal opinion that Volume 8 is "the" gem of the series, well so far anyway Cheers! 		The Self Defense Training System™ helps Defensive Tactics Instructor become a Better Teacher I enjoy training on the Spar Pros and BOB's. Most of the people I teach are impressed with my speed and power on the striking sequences. It shows them that most people can hit with speed and power with a little practice and good technique. Too many people think that striking is only for the young and strong. People of all ages, sizes, and genders can effectively neutralize most threats and escape to safety. 		One module of The Self Defense Training Sytem as better than Years of Krav Maga First let me start off by saying after taking several years of Krav, I learned more about what it takes to in the first lesson of the first module Essential Self Defense than I learned in my years of Krav Maga. Although the appear to be similar, Krav Maga for all its real world application is still lacking something. There are literally dozens of scams on the internet and for your company to differentiate and distinguish itself, is a diffuclt task, I hope my two cents helps. People fear purchasing bcause of unauthorized, fine print charges and no customer service. This is not the case with The Self Defense Company™. I feel like your company is awesome. I live in Philly and look forward to attending some of the training seminars.
